I love love love Valentines day. I've always been single during valentines day, and it has never once cause me anguish.
I'm not saying I'm above all those other single people who find despair in this card company holiday, i just have never given V-day that much meaning.
Sure I would like to have a boyfriend, fiance, husband, but I don't, and I didn't have one yesterday, or the day before and I wont have tomorrow. (unless t.v. isn't lying to me and chance encounters on subways really happen and things come together for me (but I live in Mesa, no subway here, (did I just use brackets inside brackets? I did (inception brackets) wow, crazy) Maybe I could use the light rail?) But I doubt that.)

Anywho, the point is, today only has the meaning you give it, I spent the day making cupcakes with my Laurenla and now I am going to watch 30 rock, eat frozen pizza and sweet stuff, and do homework that's due at midnight.

I really am happy as a clam today :)

I realize I have been silent lately, life has been keeping me on my toes and so I am seeing less laptop screen time that usual...

After living as a happy little family in NC for three months my father was sent on a seconed Float
Me and my Ma mére moved once again across the U.S. to live with her parents.

Little me continued to grow

Yes, that is me eating a head of lettuce.

I was a climber! Don't you just love the great van in the background?!

We would continue to live here for another 6 months while my daddy was away.

Across the country the went.

After my father came home from the first float, he came and got me and my mother and we moved from one coast to another.
We went to Jacksonville North Carolina where we settled into basic normal family life.

As you can see my dad didn't like me at all ;)

For my second 3 months we lived in NC.

Then my dad was called away again to another float.

Then it was back to Oregon.

She was born by the sea.

The first place I ever lived was Sixes Oregon. My mother and me lived with her parents, my grandparents.
My father was then in the Marine Corps and over seas (literally) on a ship.
My grandparents of course didn't mind us being there at all, I was the first grand-baby. I was cherished by all of my family. Lucky for my dad everyone took lots of pictures. I wouldn't meet my father until I was 3 months old.

A story of late night wanderings, bears, badgers, and a bathroom.

Whilst adventuring in the wild woods and sandy beaches of Oregon, I attended yet another year of Girls Camp.
This year I was not there as a girl though. I was there as a Photographer.
This meant I had my own tent that I could set up wherever I pleased.
I choose a choice spot near the place where the food was served, near the bathrooms, and most importantly where I could avoid the large hills.
My grandparents provided me with a spectacular tent:

I selected the left side of the tent for my own personal use.

I was granted a tent buddy I fondly call Kay-kay. She took the left side and we dubbed our tent Hogwarts.
(She slept in Slytherin I slept in Gryfindor)
The first night was, well, wet.
Being Oregon and everything it rained all night. I woke up the next morning with a wet pillow and slightly soggy socks.
We procured some plastic to use the rest of the week and spent the day under umbrellas

The seconded night is where my story of terror really begins...

It started off fine, after an exausting day of picture taking and gormet judging me and Kay-kay fell into a blissful sleep.
It didnt last long for me.
I woke up in the dead of night with one thought
I have to pee or I may die.
I was groggy and not fully aware of why I was in a tent, I rolled out of bed and into my purple rain boots.
I remember briefly considering waking up Kay-kay, but I decided if I was dying she could hear my scream.
I started up the hill to the bathrooms.
Looking around me in my deeply deprived of sleep state of mind I suddenly realized I was not in Arizona
I was in the woods.
Bears lived in the woods.
Raccoon's lived in the woods
And badgers... OH MY GOSH I'M GOING TO BE ATTACKED BY BADGERS!!!
I broke into a sprint the rest of the way to the bathrooms.
Still panicking I went into the bathroom,
"There are no badgers in Oregon" I told myself.
I swung open a stall door causing a large shadow to shift out of the corner of my eye, I almost had a heart attack.
After checking all the other stalls assuring there were no more badgers I relieved my still full bladder.
I stumbling back to my tent, seeing badgers around every corner. I fell into my bed and returned to slumber.
It was by far one of my most terrifying experiences. I don't even remember the rest of camp.

And that is why you should always take a buddy to go pee with you.

Just so you know, I'm skipping girls camp for the moment and moving on to my favorite part of Oregon.
The beach.
I will try not to dump to many pictures in this post, I really love the sea, so I take a lot of pictures of it.

.:Oregon is where my heart lives:.

My adventure began with a 10:30 flight out of PHX airport, we landed in San Francisco a short time later, where I would be for the next three hours until my flight to North Bend.

Imagine my surprise in looking out the window to discover I am in the same part of San Fran as my Dear Cabbage (Cabbage is a close friend who is on his mission in south San Fran)

It was a long wait, I bought my self a bright green San Francisco sweat shirt, ate some Chinese food and waited

and

waited

Bought a few postcards to send to Cabbage

waited some more

until finally I said farewell to one of my favorite cities and boarded the plane set for Oregon

Don't worry San Fran!

I will be back again soon to see you for more than three hours!

I arrived at North Bend airport into the waiting embrace of my lovely Grandma, We got my luggage, grabbed some dinner and a few groceries and started the hour long car ride to my grandparents house.

I was greeted my all the familiar sights and sounds of my first home, my Aunt and two cousins (my only cousins on my mom's side of the family) came down the hill to see me and I went to bed happy and content to be "home".

The next morning was a flurry of packing, this time for Girls camp, My grandpa made me some delicious waffles which I promptly devoured with homemade strawberry freezer jam YUM!

After waffles and packing I went into the front yard to wander, and enjoy the beautiful weather.

This is my cousin Nicholas, he loves it when I take pictures of him with my grandma's dog blossom.

Nicholas is autistic.

These tiny daisys grow all over my grandparents yard, since I was little they have been my favorite.

My poppy always waits to cut the grass and these little flowers until after I have seen them.

We gave my grandmother this dog a few years back, Blossom is so loved and completely spoiled!

One of these teletubies you are and know.
As you long-board behind Pete's,

But of all your Qualities the one I envy most
is your long wavy flaxen hair of which I boast.

it leaves me with a jealous frown.

!PLEASE READ THIS POST WITH A BRITISH ACCENT!
I am one of the biggest Harry Potter fans you will ever meet.
And there are a lot of us out there.
I started reading the books when I was 9 years old, at the time me and my parents lived in a fifth wheel trailer in Las Vegas Nevada and several places in California.
I feel in love with the books and the boy who lived under the stairs. I live in cramped quarters and I empathized with him.
Harry Potter set off my already vivid imagination and me and my mom quickly moved through all three books that were out at the time.
When I was ten about a month before my 11th birthday the first Harry Potter movie was released.
I can still remember sitting in the theater watching my favorite story come to life before my eyes, true there were (in my eyes) mistakes or parts left out but I was excited all the same. I grew along side the books and movies for the next ten years watching the actors and fully believing I should have had the part of Hermione in the movies (I do love Emma Watson now though) and I never stopped waiting for own Hogwarts letter.
I spent hours on the interactive Harry Potter websites, and even had my grandfather make me several wands. I reread the books more times than I can remember. (I'm not exaggerating ether, I really have read them each over 20 times)
With the final instalment of the last movie set to come out on Friday, you better believe I already have my ticket and my wand and I will be in costume to see it at the midnight showing.
I never stopped believing in magic.
I never stopped waiting for my letter.
I never believed my Dumbledore was gay despite what GAY. K. Rowling has said.
I knew Snape couldn't be evil.
I solemnly swore I was up to no good on multiple occasions.
Weasly will always be my king
I would have joined S.P.E.W if Hermione had only asked
I would have Joined Dumbledores Army too
I always knew Ron and Hermione would end up together
I cried when Sirius, Dumbledore, Hedwig, Mad Eye, Dobby, Fred Weasly, Lupin and Tonks died.
I will cry when the last movie is over.
I have my own cloak
my own wands
my own marauders map
and Harry Potter ultimate edition #1

I have been a fan and I will continue to be a fan for the rest of my life, my children will be raised with Harry Potter just like I was.

Today has been one of the most frustrating days of my life.
It started out okay and the middle with Lauren was entertaining and only a little frustrating.

As a girl, I have many insecurities.Most of which have doubled (and in some cases tripled) in the last year.

I can't seem to help it, being insecure seems to come with that life package deal I signed up for by being born.

Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item

This one really made me think. The list of items that are dear to me is long.

But the first thing that came to my head when I read "day 7" was Griz Biz Bear.

This is what he looks like currently:

Griz has a long history in my family. When my parents were still dating, my mom lived in New Jersey as a Nanny and my dad was in Oregon. My parents are both romantics at heart, (Too bad I never inherited that trait!) My mother sent a letter to my dad and told him a bunch of lovey dovey stuff including how she missed the way he smelled. My father being suave went and bought the bear you see above and wrapped it in a shirt he had worn for a few days (I know gross, right, "I love you here is my sweaty shirt" is what all women want to hear) .

After they got married and had me a few years later, Griz became a family theme, I adopted Griz as my own and as you can see he was well loved. Griz was my teddy bear, if I didn't have him, (or the other 5 stuffies I carried with me) I wouldn't sleep. He has moved everywhere and been on many vacations, even as I got older and ditched all my other stuffed friends (except Emily the elephant who lost a leg and had to be retired), Griz came with me, stuffed unceremoniously into my pillowcase.

I have since stopped sleeping with my friend Griz, but every once in a while when the insecurity monster rears its ugly offensive head, Griz Biz Bear is there for a hug.

P.s. He lost is eyes in a fight with one of the new puppies. In case you wanted to know.

I would trade places with Elizabeth Bennett.

(I am aware that she is a fictional character.)

Anyways, I would trade places with her for three reasons

1. She is awesome

2.It would be cool to have that many sisters for a day.

3.She gets to kiss Mr.Darcy

Heather is my best friend. We went to Disneyland the end of last summer. It was our last adventure before she left for Basic Training.

Heather is one of the few people who knows the real me, and for some strange reason still loves me.

We have been besties since 2002 (which is a long time for me)

We haven't lived near each other for a good 5 years, but we are still close, last year she got married.

This scripture comes to mind tonight. Yesterday a dear friend, peer, and great example in my life was stuck by a great tragedy. She has been faced with the loss of a long awaited baby.
The baby was named Ella, and she lived for only four hours after her birth. My heart and Prayers go out to this Friend and her husband. I can't imagine losing a child or what the heartbreak they must be feeling.
I'm only 20 years old but in my life I have learned there are few things more precious the a long awaited child. I have known many women in my life who have not been blessed with the opportunity to have children or have difficulty getting pregnant. My heart goes out to all these women, I know that because of our Heavenly fathers great plan of happiness these women, who have lost children or were unable to have any, will be blessed in the next life with raising those sweet spirits.
For know I will continue to pray for them to be comforted.

To Amy: YOU ARE LOVED! There are few other people I hold in higher regard than you, you are an incredible example of how to be a faithful daughter of God.

I have netflix. It's amazing I love watching stuff instantly on the computer. I admit it, I'm freaking addicted to entertaining movies and t.v. shows. I love all the normal one's the "cool"people watch such as the office and psych, maybe even a little Monk. But there's one show that reveals the dorky-ness in me.

That show is...Xena Warrior Princess...I know! YOU all thought I was so cool!

I'm now on the 6th and final season, yes I've watched all 6 seasons, and I have enjoyed every episode!

Okay, most of the episode's... 80% at least.

Letters to my dog

This is my dog:

Fancy is a marvelous mutt. My dad brought her home after he found her on the side of the road on the Reservation, she was so ugly no one we tried to give her to would take her. So I "traded" her for my 11th birthday.

She is a sweet timid beast and we have been together for the last 9 years. Sometimes she doesn't listen to me, so I have decided to send her official letters so she can't ignore me anymore

Here is my first letter:

Dear Fancy,

Please stop sleeping on my pile of clean clothes.
The extra bed in my room is not for you and the clothes on it are not to make "your bed" more cozy.
Also while I have your attention, stop breaking into the house when I leave, I've been locking the back door not because I'm mad at you but because you can no longer be trusted.

You may have notice a lack of pictures in my recent posts. Your probably asking yourself "why is Amber, the best photographer ever, teasing us with this montage of pictureless posts?
I will tell you why world.
The reason for the lack of pictures, so beautiful they make you cry and laugh at the same time, is because I misplaced my camera charger.

But don't panic!
Low and behold this glorious day of November 16 2010:
I FOUND MY CHARGER!

I was so excited I ran to fetch my camera so I could immediately begin charging it.
But where did I leave my camera?
The living room?
Nope not there,
Ah the kitchen table of course!
NO, not here ether,
Oh the office, it must be there!
Hmm...Not in the office...

OH NO! This could only mean one thing....

Its some where in my room....

I can't believe I would put something as important as my camera in my bedroom! How could I have been so careless? It could be sucked into the black hole that is my closet, lost in the fire hazard desk full of old papers or eaten my the alligator under my bed!

I realize it has been a (really really) long time since I posted anything. But some big changes are coming and i feel the need to share.
The biggest most difficult change comes tomorrow. Heather, my very best and greatest friend leaves for Basic training for the United States Army. I will miss her terribly, she is a close confidant and highly entertaining.
Also I go back to work tomorrow. I'm looking forward to that distraction. In two weeks I go back to school as a full time student. Exciting? Yes. Terrifying? So very terrifying... but i will survive and learn to speak French!
(French 101 is one of my classes)

I think thats all for now. In the future I will be better at posting updates.

Imminent Adventure

So another year has come and gone, I would just like to know where I was for it?

Anyways, The grand Oregon tour is approaching rapidly, and by rapidly I mean the end of this week beginning of next. The exact date is completely confidential and known only to those who will be traveling in the sexy beast (sexy beast is the truck).

I'm really excited for this trip.

Oh and I have made a recent purchase of a brand new shockproof, waterproof, digital camera.

YAY! I'm confident this one will last longer than my previous cameras...

Okay thats all there should be pictures from said trip and camera soon.

Woah! i just looked at my last post and it has been over a month since I posted anything!

Okay so its been a month since I have done alot of things... But i have done some fun things, I went and saw Into The Wood's at a local High school twice (they did a really great job), and I have been working my three days a week,

On monday I went and applyed for a summer job at the Zoo so hopefully that will come through.

Also I have done some of my suff for SCC, I havn't done all that fun finacial stuff yet, I need my daddyo's help with that but he is BUSY BUSY BUSY working.

well I guess that's the highlights of my monthbut there's lots to look forward to next month :)

Disney land was awesome, i have so much fun With my friend Christy and her sister Winnie.

We left Tuesday morning around 5 am and drove to Anaheim CA which is about 5and a half hours away we got to our hotel checked in and headed to the park

On that first day we went on ten rides and had an absolute blast!

We got up early the next day and went to toon town (after riding the teacups for the second time :) )

The last day we chilled and ended the day with going on Space mountain for the 5th time

Besides one or two tragedies like me losing my ticket/room key/transit pass for a few hours before finding it back at space mountain and saving a seat for fireworks only to be told 1 and 1/2 hours later we cant sit there it was alot of fun.

I will always remember the games we played waiting in line for rides or how much food those girls can eat!

I can't wait until I get to go again.

Hello Readers!

I have no idea how many of you there are but I hope you all forgive me for not blogging lately.

It has been and exciting couple of weeks, not only have I been sick with a cold and possibly some dehydration, My Daddyo was home all of last week so i spent most evenings with my Family.

Today was really exciting I got my first ever pair of glasses!!!!

I climbed up on my roof again today,

Today I went to work, yes I usually dont go in on mondays or fridays but Miss Sheri needed some help and I wasn't going to do anything productive anyways so I went in.

After work me and my mom drove around town in our 'new' convertible (it was new in '98)

Okay so I have lots to Catch up on, Yesterday I finally conquered camleback!!!

While I was at the top of the mountain, I called one of my best friends who is attending BYU Provo, he received his mission call to Anchorage, Alaska Spanish speaking mission

Now obviously I did not take this picture of him reading his call cause I'm still in AZ, but his sister did, so I thought I would share... CONGRATS SAM!!!

So I did not take any pictures today due to the fact I woke up the sorest I have ever been and with the beginnings of a cold AND because I didn't do anything except go to church and I didn't take my camera there for obvious reverence reasons.

Church was awesome as usual I overcame my shyness and bore my testimony, I hope it was OK and I didn't ramble to much because I honestly don't remember what all I said.

Sorry there is only two pictures in the future I may start only doing one because I keep staying up later and later to update this blog and the post are never as good as if I was well rested

YAY! Today I found my AWL!

For those of you who don't know what an awl is it is a pointy metal peice of steel the same size and shape as a screw driver, it is used for pokeing holes in stuff.

So while I was at Disneyland being the clever girl that I am, collected smoshed pennys so I could make them into a bracelett!

When I got home from Disneyland I couldn't find my awl so my pennys sat bored in my jewlery box...untill today that is. So i finished my bracelett and I am thinking of more things to put holes in...

Today after work, and shopping we came home and the dogs had there tender little noeses up against the gate it was precious!

After exercising of the calories from the Gummy bears I ate, me and my momma did some harvesting in our garden. I found a carrot man, he wasn't to happy about being picked...

Happy New year!!!

Today is the start of the Chinese new year,
The year of the Ox.
So today I spent most of the day with my best friend Christy who happens to be from
Hong Kong,
I picked her up at ASU and whilst I was there i decided to take a picture of the bridge.
You can correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe Christy told me that if you walk on this bridge everyday it improves you back or something like that...

After lunch at our favorite restaurant (Red Robin)
We headed over to the movies and saw Inkheart
It was really quite good but of course the book was better.

First off Happy Sunday all!!! I hope you had a lovely day.

OK on to the pictures,

This first one makes me laugh, I was trying to juggle three lemons. As you can see it was a spectacular fail, The lemon fell into the dishwasher where it was impaled.

Like I said it was spectacular!

Next we have my cookie dough that was made into delicious cookies.
I ate to many of them and now I have a tummy ache.

I have so much to be thankful for in my life but I sometimes get distracted and/or discourage by the things I don't have yet,
Lately I have been impatient in many things, mostly concerning continuing my education, but I know that if I have patience these thing will be in my grasp sooner than if I worry and obsess over them.

I have had the best day today!

After I came home from seminary i layed on the couch and worked on the play for my drama class, and watched movies and T.V.

Around 1ish I got a call from Heidi Knoblock, she needed a sitter for her two kids and then they decided to go out with Niki (my art teacher) so the two soon became 6. I called up Christy to recruit another pair of hands.

When I arrived, me and Mylie spent a good 10 minutes taking pictures.

This one is my favorite!

First our airplane (air Stetson) crashed, then our submarine crashed and then we had a sleeping contest!

Currently we are onto our second movie,

we started with Alice In Wonderland and we are ending with Robin Hood.

If I had known the Eiffel Tower was so close I would have gone to see it sooner!

Anyways we played with string today and I learned to turn the wiches broom into the Eiffel Tower it was super entertaining.

After I rode my bike home and cleaned the house me and BuddyRo (aka Brusier) did some strength training, he almost pulled me over as I tried to photograph the activity.

We got an awesome suprise today! My daddy came home a whole day early! We went and got him and then went out to ea at Famos Daves, (so good!) there is this "hunk" in the entry and he was just so cute I couldnt resist...

Ok so I failed at taking pictures today and this is the only one I got.

After working me and my mom went and looked at cars, we drove a SCION and it was crazy cool I totaly fell in love with it.

I didnt get to drive it but it sounded so beautiful I was just iching to have a go.

You should know I love to drive it is my very favorite thing to do! I like to go fast and I like to drive all different types of cars, in all different kinds of places.

So I took this picture of a Yellow Scion its limited addition and just so...me.

Outside of Penzeys ((the place where my mom works) while i was droping off my mom there was a little dove in the middle of the road. it was hurt and flapping around so i put it into the bushes where it wouldnt get hit by a car and went into the store, when i came out it was once again in the road but this time was being attacked by crows, it was deffinetly dieing. I was upset but my mom got a plastic bag and put it back into the bushes so it would stop suffering (hopefully) I realize this is the circle of life but i still cried my eyes out for 5 minutes and was a little depressed for the rest of the day. But I was cheered up when my daddy took me out to lunch for a daddy daughter date before he left for another week. Ahich brings me to my first picture

Me and this moutain have a interesting history

I have started hiking this mountain a total of 4 times and I have yet to reach the top.

The farthest I have gotten was the saddle.

Weak I know. The first time as I was coming down I fell on the straightest part of the whole hike, I still have the scar.

The next time me and this moutain face off I will be ready.

Be afraid Camleback be very very afraid.

After Going to See's candie and visiting with my former coworkers there, I came home and prepared for a movie with my Momma.

We went and saw Paul Blart: Mall Cop.

It was funny but I have seen better.

But i liked being with my Mom she's slightly stressed out because she is trying to deal with the insurance company over the car accident.

A purple carrott!

It is truly purple we grew it in our garden and they taste AMAZING!

Ha ha these where one of my birthday/ christmas presents from Christy its all grape soda wrapped and drawn on.

I finaly decided to drink one today but I had to take a picture first. :)

This is me (of course) and I am down the road from my house getting water for myself.

Those close to me know how much I dislike tap water and spring water. They taste like dirt to me.

I know its wierd but its just one of my many little quirks that make me who I am. Some day I may be able to over come this one but in the mean time I will pay my 75 cents for 5 gallons.
